I had a dream...
Some years ago, as I was driving my car to my job I realised that I was boring ...Since a long time though it was a pleasure to drive on 4 wheels, but this morning it wasn't anymore...I then took the decision to buy a little motorcycle (approx 7.5ci) , the one you don't need a driving license to ride.Three days later I had it in the garage.
I took me 2 months to feel boring again, even if it was funny to ride this little thing, it wasn't what I had dreamt of . There was only a solution: to go to the driving school take the motorcycle driving licence. It 's quite difficult to pass this exam here in France and I had to take 3 times the " plateau" exam ( not very funny to zigzag between cones ...) .The bike was a 650 Yamaha XJN and the exercice was not very easy as I weigh about 140 lbs and I am only 5' 6"...
Everyday I had the same question in mind : which kind of bike should I have to buy ? It should be a BIG one as I wanted something that gives me emotions , but I hate Sportsbikes. Two months later I heard "something " passing me buy, I first thought it was a Harley but at the red light I catched it up and realised it was a Suzuki Intruder. Then I knew it was THE bike I wanted.
Two months and a few dealers later I found one : black and purple and in a perfect shape. The dealer even lend me a trailer to carry the Suzy home the next day. It was Ocotober 29th of 1999 and I didn't have the licence yet.
It is only on December 23rd that I took the road exam. On the afternoon the same day I took the Trudy out of the garage and went to work. You can easily imagine what I had in mind : I was fullfilling a child dream and we were 1 day before Christmas !!!
So anything can happen ...I took my bike driving exam at the of 42 and my first bike is a VS1400 weighing 300 kgs and that's terrific !!!
Three years later a lot of things have changed except the pleasure I have to push on the start switch and feel the vibration of the 89 ci V-Twin .
